In 1964 Tom Dunn founded The Universal Coterie of Pipe Smokers (T.U.C.O.P.S.) as a pipe smokers' club that would exist and communicate through the irregular quarterly journal, realized through The Pipe Smoker's Ephemeris (T.P.S.E). The correspondence between Tom Dunn and the members was documented for 40 years and reflects extensive knowledge about pipes and pipe tobacco. The Universal Coterie of Pipe Smokers (T.U.C.O.P.S.) was an informal, international group of pipe smokers and enthusiasts founded by publisher and general editor Tom Dunn in 1964. The Universal Coterie of Pipe Smokers (T.U.C.O.P.S) papers consist of correspondence between the publisher and general editor, Tom Dunn, and the members of the Coterie. The collection consists of letters, internal organization documents, receipts, photographs, realia, tobacco and pipe ephemera, business cards, brochures, short stories and poetry submissions, requests to advertise, and catalogs.
